To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet excellent in conveyance properties at printing, while preventing conveyance scratches on a back side from occurring.SOLUTION: A thermal transfer image receiving sheet includes a back layer, a back primer layer, a substrate and a reception layer in this order. The back primer layer includes a pigment and a resin material containing an urethane resin component. In the back primer layer, a mass ratio of a content of the pigment and a content of the resin material (a content of the pigment/a content of the resin material) is 1.00 to 3.00.
