Summary: | To provide an orientation film material and a liquid crystal display device with improved shock resistance.SOLUTION: A display device includes an array substrate 10, a counter substrate 20, a liquid crystal layer 50 sealed between the array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20, a first orientation film AL1 and a second orientation film AL2 provided to the array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20, respectively, and in contact with the liquid crystal layer 50. The liquid crystal layer 50 is a polymer dispersed liquid crystal LC including a polymer network 51 formed in a mesh shape, and a liquid crystal molecule 52 dispersedly held in a space in the polymer network 51.
