Summary:To provide a gas detector capable of outputting a highly stable detection signal.SOLUTION: A gas detector 1 comprises: a light-emitting section 10 that emits light in a wavelength band including a wavelength absorbed by gas to be detected; a light-receiving section 20 having sensitivity in the wavelength band; a package 40 including the light-emitting section 10 and the light-receiving section 20; a light guide section 50 that guides the light to the light-receiving section 20; a joint section 60 that joins the package 40 and the light guide section 50; and a heat insulating section 70 provided in a gap between the package 40 and the light guide section 50.
