Summary:To shorten the length of a light emitting device in the longitudinal direction compared to a case where an electrode portion is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the light emitting device.SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes a substrate, a light-emitting portion composed of a plurality of light-emitting elements, a transfer unit that outputs a signal for controlling the light emitting state of the light emitting element, and an electrode unit for inputting/outputting the signal to drive the transfer unit, the substrate has a rectangular shape with long sides and short sides, and the transfer unit and the electrode unit are arranged along the short sides of the substrate, respectively.
