Summary:To prevent work by a shovel from being carried out while ON/OFF state of an object detection function is erroneously recognized.SOLUTION: A shovel 100 includes a lower traveling body 1, an upper revolving body 3 rotatably mounted on the lower traveling body 1, and a controller 30 provided on the upper revolving body 3. The controller 30 has a state switching function that switches the state of the shovel between an operable state and an inoperable state, a human detection function that detects people around the shovel, and a function that allows the operator to confirm ON/OFF state of the human detection function. The shovel is configured to be switched to an operable state after the operator confirms the ON/OFF state of the human detection function.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】物体検知機能のＯＮ／ＯＦＦ状態が誤認識されたままショベルによる作業が行われてしまうのを防止すること。【解決手段】ショベル１００は、下部走行体１と、下部走行体１に旋回自在に搭載された上部旋回体３と、上部旋回体３に設けられるコントローラ３０と、を備える。コントローラ３０は、操作可能状態と操作不能状態との間でショベルの状態を切り換える状態切換機能と、ショベルの周囲に存在する人を検知する人検知機能と、人検知機能のＯＮ／ＯＦＦ状態を操作者に確認させる機能と、を有し、人検知機能のＯＮ／ＯＦＦ状態を操作者に確認させた後でショベルの状態を操作可能状態に切り換えるように構成されている。【選択図】図５
