Summary:To provide a coil component that can secure connection reliability between a coil and external electrodes while suppressing increase in the number of manufacturing steps and increase in time and effort.SOLUTION: A coil component 1, 1A, 1B comprises an element body 2, a coil 3, metal wires 4 and 5, and external electrodes 6 and 7. The coil 3 is arranged in the element body 2. The coil 3 has tips 3a and 3b exposed from the element body 2. The metal wires 4 and 5 are connected with the tips 3a and 3b, respectively. The metal wires 4 and 5 extend along an outer surface of the element body 2, on the outer surface. The external electrodes 6 and 7 are connected with the metal wires 4 and 5 outside the element body 2, respectively. The external electrodes 6 and 7 are electrically connected with the coil 3 via the metal wires 4 and 5, respectively.
