Summary: | To provide a polyethylene resin composition capable of suppressing an eye mucus amount originating from a metal soap, suppressing a residual amount of a metal soap, and improving safety of a battery.SOLUTION: A polyethylene resin composition includes an ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene powder, and a metal soap, where the viscosity average molecular weight of the ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene powder is 100,000-10,000,000, and a strand deposit when extruding with a twin screw extruder under a predetermined condition has a length/breadth of 0.05 or more and 5.0 or less. <Extrusion condition with a twin screw extruder> Polymer concentration: the polymer concentration is adjusted to a formula I value or more and a formula II value or less according to a viscosity average molecular weight (Mv) of the ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene powder. Formula I: Y=260.63X-0.484. Y: a polymer concentration. X: a molecular weight (Mv). Formula II: Y=338.69X-0.626. Y: a polymer concentration. X: a molecular weight (Mv).
