To suppress an occurrence of erroneous detection when detecting a plurality of portions related to a subject in an image, and to enable more accurate subject detection and setting.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus detects a plurality of portions of a subject from a captured image. Head detection (S301), pupil detection (S302), and torso detection (S303) are performed, and each detection result is acquired. The imaging apparatus performs a process of associating a plurality of the acquired detection results (S305).
