Summary: | To provide a storage system and a storage system controlling method capable of controlling unlocking of multiple storage boxes without making it essential to provide a control unit for each storage box.SOLUTION: A storage system A1 includes multiple storage boxes Bx and a control unit 5. Each storage box Bx has a door, an electronic lock 2, a detection unit 3, and a switch unit 4 for blocking a detection signal of the detection unit. Multiple first wiring lines are provided for individually connecting the control unit 5 and multiple electronic locks 2, and multiple second wiring lines are provided for individually connecting the control unit 5 and multiple switch units 4. The control unit 5 sequentially switches the multiple second wiring lines for receiving each detection signal, and transmits an unlock signal via the first wiring line to the electronic lock 2 of the storage box Bx.
