To provide a keratin fiber cosmetic comprising a melanin precursor, which suppresses a decrease in hair dyeing properties even if an acidic keratin fiber cosmetic, such as a conditioner, is repeatedly used after using the keratin fiber cosmetic, thereby enabling dyeing with less yellowing and with the true color that develops as a result of oxidation of melanin precursors.SOLUTION: Provided is a keratin fiber cosmetic comprising the following components (A) to (D): (A) a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a salt thereof [in the formula (1) [dashed lines indicate the presence or absence of π bonds; R1 represents a hydroxyl group or an acetoxy group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or -COOR (R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group); and R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an acetyl group, a methyl group, or an ethyl group], (B) an alkaline agent, (C) an anionic surfactant, and (D) sulfite salts.
