Summary:To provide a thermostat device which can be suppressed in size enlargement, is favorable in the assembling performance of a seal member, and can suppress a cost, and its manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A thermostat device comprises: a housing 1 which is attached to an attachment hole of a mating member, and in which a flow passage of a cooling liquid is formed at its inside; a seal member 25 which liquid-tightly seals a clearance between the mating member and the housing 1; a thermoelement 17 which is telescopically operated according to a temperature of the cooling liquid; a valve body 15 which opens and closes the flow passage by a telescopic operation of the thermoelement 17; and a coil spring 16 which energizes the valve body 15 to a closing direction.
