To provide a lighting unit that can use a conversion circuit performing pulse width conversion control in common for a plurality of light sources different in light color, while preventing a reduction in controllability of brightness.SOLUTION: There is provided the lighting unit comprising: a light source unit that has a light source; and a lighting device that turns on the light source and can change the lighting state of the light source. The lighting device has a conversion circuit that supplies modulated current subjected to pulse width modulation to the light source, and a control unit that controls the operation of the conversion circuit based on a control signal representing the pulse width in the pulse width modulation control to cause the conversion circuit to supply the modulated current with a pulse width according to the control signal to the light source. The conversion circuit has an adjustment circuit that adjusts the magnitude of the modulated current. The control unit acquires setting information representing a proper current value of the light source connected with the conversion circuit, and based on the setting information, controls the operation of the adjustment circuit so that the magnitude of the modulated current becomes a magnitude according to the proper current value of the connected light source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】明るさの制御性の低下を抑制しつつ、パルス幅変調制御を行う変換回路を、光色の異なる複数の光源に対して共通に使用できる照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】光源を有する光源ユニットと、光源を点灯させるとともに、光源の点灯状態を変更可能な点灯装置と、を備え、点灯装置は、パルス幅変調した変調電流を光源に供給する変換回路と、パルス幅変調制御のパルス幅を表す制御信号に基づいて変換回路の動作を制御することにより、制御信号に応じたパルス幅の変調電流を変換回路から光源に供給させる制御部と、を有し、変換回路は、変調電流の大きさを調整する調整回路を有し、制御部は、変換回路に接続された光源の適正電流値を表す設定情報を取得し、設定情報を基に、変調電流の大きさが、接続された光源の適正電流値に応じた大きさとなるように、調整回路の動作を制御することを特徴とする照明装置が提供される。【選択図】図１
