To provide a diesel engine for actualizing precise fuel injection.SOLUTION: A fuel injector 7 includes a large-diameter body part 7c, a small-diameter nozzle part 7d, and a thrust surface 7e formed on a step area between the body part 7c and the nozzle part 7d, the nozzle part 7d of the fuel injector 7 being inserted through from the inside of a sleeve 10 to the inside of an insertion hole 1a so that the fuel injector 7 is thrust to a swirl chamber 2 side with thrust force 11 and the thrust force 11 on the fuel injector 7 is received from the thrust surface 7e of the fuel injector 7 via a washer 12 by a pressure receiving surface 10b of the sleeve 10, the sleeve 10 including a sleeve extension cover 28a extending from a protruded end 10a in the protruding direction, the sleeve extension cover 28a covering the washer 12 from its outer periphery side, the body part 7c of the fuel injector 7 being internally fitted to an extension end 28aa of the sleeve extension cover 28a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】精密な燃料噴射が行えるディーゼルエンジンを提供する。【解決手段】燃料インジェクタ７は、径大の本体部７ｃと、径小のノズル部７ｄと、本体部７ｃとノズル部７ｄの段差部分に形成された押圧面７ｅを備え、燃料インジェクタ７のノズル部７ｄがスリーブ１０内から挿通孔１ａ内に亘って挿通され、燃料インジェクタ７が押圧力１１で渦室２側に押圧され、燃料インジェクタ７にかかる押圧力１１が燃料インジェクタ７の押圧面７ｅから座金１２を介してスリーブ１０の受圧面１０ｂで受け止められるように構成され、スリーブ１０は、突出端部１０ａから突出方向に延長されたスリーブ延長カバー２８ａを備え、スリーブ延長カバー２８ａで座金１２が外周側から覆われ、スリーブ延長カバー２８ａの延長端部２８ａａに燃料インジェクタ７の本体部７ｃが内嵌されている。【選択図】 図１
