Summary:To provide a rotary electric machine capable of reducing assembling man-hours for positioning a bus bar holder.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 10 comprises: a stator opposing to a rotor at an interval on the outer side of a diametrical direction; a housing that stores the rotor and the stator therein; a bus bar electrically connected to the stator; and a bus bar holder that holds the bus bar. The housing has a top wall portion 32a covering the stator from one side in an axial direction. The top wall portion has a plurality of recessed portions 39b disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction and recessed from a surface on the one side in the axial direction of the top wall portion toward the other side in the axial direction. The bus bar holder has a plurality of disposed portions 91b disposed in the plurality of recessed portions, respectively. The plurality of recessed portions include a first recessed portion 39c, and a second recessed portion 39d.
