To provide a carbon fiber recovery method capable of shortening dissolution treatment time of a resin material containing CFRP.SOLUTION: A carbon fiber recovery method includes the steps of: bringing carbon fiber-reinforced plastic containing carbon fibers and a resin material into contact with a dissolution liquid 4 that contains a sulfuric acid and is controlled to a temperature lower than a dissolution temperature capable of dissolving the resin material; bringing the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic into contact with the dissolution liquid 4 that contains a sulfuric acid and is heated at the dissolution temperature or higher, and dissolving the resin material; and recovering the carbon fibers remaining in the dissolution liquid 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ＣＦＲＰが含有する樹脂材の溶解処理時間を短縮することができる炭素繊維回収方法を提供すること。【解決手段】炭素繊維回収方法は、炭素繊維と樹脂材とを含有する炭素繊維強化プラスチックと硫酸を含有するとともに樹脂材を溶解可能な溶解温度未満の温度に管理された溶解液４とを接触させるステップと、炭素繊維強化プラスチックと硫酸を含有するとともに溶解温度以上に加熱された溶解液４とを接触させて樹脂材を溶解するステップと、溶解液４中に残った炭素繊維を回収するステップと、を有する。【選択図】図１
