Summary:To improve the accuracy of parallax calculation when performing imaging by using lenses having different angles of view (imaging magnifications) for cameras constituting a stereo camera.SOLUTION: A stereo camera is formed by using cameras having different angles of view as left and right cameras, and the sensor pitch of a sensor in the right camera on a narrow angle side is increased compared to the sensor pitch of a sensor in the left camera on a wide angle side. Thus, when enlargement processing is performed in post-processing on an image picked up by the sensor in the left camera on the wide angle side having a narrower sensor pitch, a picked-up image can be obtained in a state in which the sampling interval between left and right subjects is aligned. Performing parallax calculation by using the picked-up image can improve the accuracy of parallax calculation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18 【課題】ステレオカメラを構成する各カメラにそれぞれ異なる画角(撮像倍率)のレンズを用いて撮像を行う場合における視差演算精度の向上を図る。【解決手段】左右カメラとしてそれぞれ画角が異なるカメラを用いてステレオカメラを形成し、広角側の左カメラのセンサのセンサピッチよりも、狭角側の右カメラのセンサのセンサピッチの方を広くする。これにより、センサピッチの狭い方である広角側の左カメラのセンサの撮像画像を後処理により拡大処理した際に、左右の被写体のサンプリング間隔を揃えた状態の撮像画像を得ることができる。この撮像画像を用いて視差演算を行うことで、視差演算精度の向上を図ることができる。【選択図】図18
