Summary:To provide a manufacturing method for an electrode for a lithium-ion battery which can obtain an electrode with good surface smoothness, in which the difference in unevenness at the widthwise end of an electrode mixture layer is set to 1.0 mm or less even when the ratio of the average particle size of an electrode composition to the roller spacing is smaller than before.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an electrode for a lithium-ion battery includes a preparatory step of preparing electrode active material particles having an electrode active material particle main body and a coating layer covering at least a part of the surface of the electrode active material particle main body, and a forming step of forming an electrode mixture layer by supplying an electrode composition between a pair of rollers arranged in parallel with each other at intervals and driven by rotation, and pressurizing the electrode composition containing the electrode active material particles with the pair of rollers. The content of the coating layer with respect to the total mass of the electrode active material particle main body and the coating layer in the electrode active material particles is 6.0 mass% or more and 12 mass% or less, and the average particle diameter ratio of the electrode composition with respect to the interval is 0.05 or more and 0.30 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】ローラ間隔に対する電極組成物の平均粒子径の比率が従来よりも小さい場合であっても、電極合材層の幅方向端部の凹凸差を1.0mm以下とし、表面平滑性が良好な電極を得られるリチウムイオン電池用電極の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】本製造方法は、電極活物質粒子本体と、該電極活物質粒子本体の表面の少なくとも一部を被覆する被覆層とを有する電極活物質粒子を準備する準備工程と、間隔を隔てて互いに平行に配置され、それぞれ回転駆動される一対のローラ間に、前記電極組成物を供給し、前記電極活物質粒子を含む電極組成物を前記一対のローラで加圧することにより、電極合材層を形成する形成工程とを有する。前記電極活物質粒子中の前記電極活物質粒子本体及び前記被覆層の合計質量に対する前記被覆層の含有率が6.0質量%以上12質量%以下であり、前記間隔に対する前記電極組成物の平均粒子径の比率が0.05以上0.30以下である。【選択図】なし
