To provide a workpiece holding device capable of holding workpieces various in size, shape and quality of material by at least one of suction force and gripping force.SOLUTION: A workpiece holding device 11 includes: a suction surface forming part 15 for forming a suction surface 19 having an opened suction hole 18 capable of sucking workpieces; a first space forming part 16 for surrounding and forming a first space 21 between itself and the suction surface forming part; a second space forming part 17 for surrounding and forming a second space 22 between itself and the first space forming part; and a pressure adjustment part 41 capable of adjusting pressure in the first space and the second space. The suction surface forming part, the first space forming part and the second space forming part can be bent and deformed, and are superposed on each other so as to form a gripping part capable of gripping the workpieces when the suction surface is bent and deformed in a mode of wrapping the workpieces.
