To provide an air purification device which can be easily constructed with a simple structure, which does not become hindrance in an installation state, and can efficiently purify room air, and a room air purification method.SOLUTION: An air purification device 1 can be provided on a corner part formed of a ceiling and walls of a room, and comprises: a housing 2; an ultraviolet light source 3 provided in the housing 2; a current plate 4; a blowing part 5; and an operation switch of the ultraviolet light source and the blowing part. The current plate 4 is arranged on a ventilation channel between the ultraviolet light source 3 and a lid part 23, on the current plate, a plurality of open holes is formed in a plate thickness direction, and front/rear both surfaces of the current plate respectively form a photocatalyst active substance arrangement part 41.
