Summary:To provide a stator coil in which weld portions are in close contact and that has gaps in the other parts.SOLUTION: A stator of a rotary electric machine includes a plurality of segment coils including adjacent first and second coils, and a core portion having a space in which the segment coil is arranged, and each of the segment coils has a coated portion covered with an insulator and an exposed portion in which a conductor is exposed, and the exposed portion is formed with a protruding portion protruding from the side surface of the coated portion.
