To solve the problem in which: when a binding function of first binding means of binding at an end of a sheet bundle (hereinafter described as binding) fails, binding processing cannot be performed until the failure of the first binding means is repaired, which thus reduces the operating ratio of a sheet processing apparatus and an image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus; and when staples of the first binding means run out, the binding cannot also be performed until the stables of the first binding means are replenished, which thus reduces the operating ratio of the sheet processing apparatus and the image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus.SOLUTION: When first binding means fails or the first binding means runs out of staples and cannot perform binding processing, second binding means performs the binding processing in place of the first binding means to avoid a reduction in operating ratio of a sheet processing apparatus and an image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus due to the inability to perform the binding processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】第一綴じ手段のシート束を端綴じ（以下、綴じと記載する。）する綴じ機能が故障した場合、第一綴じ手段の故障が修理されるまで綴じ処理が出来なくなるためシート処理装置、及び、シート処理装置を備えた画像形成システムの稼働率が低下する。また、第一綴じ手段の針が針無しになった場合であっても、第一綴じ手段の針を補充するまでは綴じ処理が出来なくなり、シート処理装置、及び、シート処理装置を備えた画像形成システムの稼働率が低下してしまうという課題があった。【解決手段】第一綴じ手段の故障時や、第一綴じ手段の針の針無し発生時の様に、綴じ処理が出来なくなってしまった場合に、第二の綴じ手段によって綴じ処理を代替することで、綴じ処理が出来ないことによるシート処理装置、及び、シート処理装置を備えた画像形成システムの稼働率の低下を回避する。【選択図】図１
