Summary: | To secure solidification uniformity in molten steel and suppress corner cracking in a cast slab.SOLUTION: A mold for continuous casting to be used in a continuous casting facility where steel is continuously casted includes: a pair of long side copper plates; and a pair of short side copper plates that is held between the pair of long side copper plates, and that is movable along a long side direction of the long side copper plates. The short side copper plate has: two or more gradients differing in a casting direction so that a plurality of tapered parts is formed on an internal surface side of the mold to be supplied with molten steel; and protrusions extending in the casting direction, at both ends in a short side direction on the internal surface side. A tapering rate of the tapered parts at the uppermost stream side in the casting direction is 1.1%/m-3.5%/m. In a plan view of the mold, the protrusion is formed such that a length of a contact part contacting the molten steel is shorter than a sum of a short side direction length and a long side direction length of the mold, and a difference thereof is 3 mm or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
