Summary:To provide a vibration-damping building equipped with a mass damper that can store water and suppress deterioration of seismic performance due to use of water.SOLUTION: In a vibration damping building 1 provided with a mass damper 10 on an upper layer, the mass damper 10 includes a water tank 20 having a plurality of water storage tanks 21 capable of discharging water, sliding bearing units 30 supporting the water tank 20, and a damping device 40 that attenuates vibration of the water tank 20. The sliding bearing units 30 includes first spherical sliding bearings 31 and second spherical sliding bearings 32 having a greater friction coefficient than the first spherical sliding bearings 31. When discharging water from the water tank 20, response displacement is adjusted according to the change in mass of the water tank 20 by discharging the water storage tanks 21 installed above the second spherical sliding bearing 32 before discharging the water storage tanks 21 installed above the first spherical sliding bearing 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】水を備蓄可能であり、水の使用に起因する耐震性能の低下が抑制可能な質量ダンパーを備えた制振建物を提供する。【解決手段】上層に質量ダンパー10が設けられた制振建物1は、質量ダンパー10は、放水可能な複数の貯水タンク21を備える水槽20と、水槽20を支える滑り支承部30と、水槽20の振動を減衰させる減衰装置40と、を備え、滑り支承部30は、第1の球面滑り支承31と、第1の球面滑り支承31より大きな摩擦係数を有する第2の球面滑り支承32を備え、水槽20から放水する際には、第2の球面滑り支承32の上方に設置される貯水タンク21を、第1の球面滑り支承31の上方に設置される貯水タンク21よりも先に放水することにより、水槽20の質量の変化に応じて応答変位が調整される。【選択図】図1
