Summary:To make it possible to obtain an image with a good balance between graininess and color reproducibility compared to the case where the proportion of a black component is always reduced as the saturation of the image increases in the case where a non-black component, which is a color component other than the black component, is replaced by the black component.SOLUTION: A processor replaces non-black components with black components for an image according to the proportion of the black components that are used to replace the non-black components. The proportion of the black components is determined by the lightness of the image and decreases with increasing saturation of the image up to the minimum value of the proportion and increases with increasing saturation of the image after the minimum value of the proportion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】黒色成分以外の色成分である非黒色成分を黒色成分に置き換える場合において、画像の彩度が高くなるほど黒色成分の割合を常に減少させる場合と比べて、粒状性と色再現性のバランスのとれた画像が得られるようにすることを目的とする。【解決手段】プロセッサは、黒色成分以外の色成分である非黒色成分を黒色成分に置き換えるための、その黒色成分の割合に従って、画像を対象として、非黒色成分を黒色成分に置き換える。黒色成分の割合は、画像の明度によって定められ、かつ、割合の最小値まで、画像の彩度が高くなるほど減少し、割合の最小値を境に、画像の彩度が高くなるほど増大する。【選択図】図1
