Summary:To obtain a method for manufacturing a press-molded article that is capable of more reliably suppressing generation of wrinkles, and to provide a molding die.SOLUTION: A press working process for molding a press-molded article 20 includes: a primary molded article molding step for molding a primary molded article 40 having an intermediate wall part 421 being a part of a protruding side wall part 22, and an intermediate flange 422 provided continuously with the intermediate wall part 421; and a secondary molded article molding step for molding a secondary molded article 50 having a wall part 52 being the protruding side wall part 22, by extending a portion on at least an intermediate wall part 421 side of the intermediate flange 422 molded in the primary molded article molding step, along the intermediate wall part 421.
