The magnetic disks have a recording layer. The magnetic head reads and writes information to and from the magnetic disks. The housing has a base 21 with an inner chamber in which the magnetic disks and magnetic head are housed, an outer cover 23 covering the inner chamber, and a welded area where the base and outer cover are welded.
