Summary:To shorten the time required for foil transfer.SOLUTION: A foil transfer method includes: a first superposing step S100 for superposing an object to be transferred W1 on a supporting stand 40, and also superposing a thermal transfer foil W2 on the object to be transferred W1; a second superposing step S200 for superposing a photothermal conversion body W3 having a photothermal conversion part W31 that absorbs light L and converts it to heat and a non-photothermal conversion part W32 that is a part other than the photothermal conversion part W31 on the thermal transfer foil W2; and a foil transfer step S300 for irradiating the a photothermal conversion body W3 from above the photothermal conversion body W3 with the light L, and transferring a part of the thermal transfer foil W2, which superposes on the photothermal conversion part W31 to the object to be transferred W1.
