Summary:To provide a thermosensitive recording body which is excellent in image definition, especially excellent in barcode readability under a low temperature environment and suppresses a problem of tailing during printing under a severe environment.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermosensitive recording body which has a thermosensitive recording layer comprising a colorless or light-colored electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive developer on a support and a protective layer composed of a binder and a pigment on the thermosensitive recording layer, wherein the thermosensitive recording layer contains a sulfone compound, the sulfone compound is represented by the following formula (wherein, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, R2 and R3 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like, m represents an integer of 1 to 3) and the protective layer contains an organic pigment having a volume 50% average particle diameter (D50) of 3 μm or more, as measured by a laser diffraction/scattering method, as a pigment.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】低温環境下における画像精細性、特にバーコード読み取り適性に優れ、過酷な環境下において、印字時の尾引きという問題が抑制された感熱記録体を提供する。【解決手段】支持体上に、無色ないし淡色の電子供与性ロイコ染料及び電子受容性顕色剤を含有する感熱記録層並びに該感熱記録層上にバインダー及び顔料から成る保護層を有する感熱記録体において、感熱記録層が、電子受容性顕色剤としてスルホン化合物を含有し、該スルホン化合物が下記式TIFF2022044310000012.tif15163(式中、R1は水素原子又は水酸基、R2及びR3は、水素原子やアルキル基など、mは1~3の整数を表す。)で表され、保護層が顔料として、レーザー回折/散乱法で測定した体積50%平均粒子径(D50)が3μm以上の無機顔料を含有する。【選択図】なし
