Summary:To provide a pantograph for a railway vehicle that is capable of holding a framework in a folded attitude even in a state where the framework does not descend to a regular position from a deployed attitude.SOLUTION: A pantograph PG includes: an underframe 1; a framework 3 having a lower frame 31 connected to a main spindle 2 of the underframe and an upper frame 33 connected to the lower frame and supporting a collector head 4; a main spring 5 for energizing the framework into a deployed attitude; and a lock mechanism 7 for holding the framework in a folded attitude. The lock mechanism includes: a hook member 73 having a hook part 74 engageable with an engagement part 41; energization means 76 for energizing the hook member toward one side in a turning direction at which the hook part is engageable with the engagement part; and an actuator 77 for turning the hook member toward the other side in the turning direction against energization force of the energization means into a retreated attitude in which the hook part separates from the engagement part.
