To provide a technique allowing stable positioning of a cartridge with respect to side plates of a tray unit.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, a cartridge PPK is removably mounted, and a tray unit configured to be movable between an internal position located inside an apparatus main body 100A and an external position located outside the apparatus main body has first and second side plates that support the cartridge, the first and second side plates each formed of metal and including a support part and an outside part, wherein the support part includes a positioning part and the positioning part is configured to contact the cartridge so that the cartridge is located at an image forming position. The apparatus main body includes first and second pressing members that are each movable between a pressing position for pressing the cartridge and a separation position separated from the cartridge.
