To provide a sheet discharge device capable of reducing an influence of disturbance light with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device comprises a transmission type sensor (51) and a reflection type sensor (52) in which their output signals change correspondingly to the position of the top face of sheets stacked on a loading part, and control means (101) having first determination means (83) for determining whether or not a sheet can be detected by the transmission type sensor and second determination means (84) for determining whether or not the sheet requires being detected by the transmission type sensor.
