To suppress increase of processing time when an image of an object is detected from a high-resolution input picture.SOLUTION: A picture processor (1A) includes: a detection circuit (3) for detecting an image of an object including a detection target; and a reduction image generation circuit (122) for generating a reduction image, which is an image with less data capacity, from an input picture (In1) with higher resolution than a detection performance of the detection circuit (3).
