Summary:To provide an impact tool that can autonomously control a rotational speed of an output shaft in accordance with a work state.SOLUTION: An impact tool 1 includes a motor 3, an impact mechanism, an output shaft, a control unit 7 and a thrust force detector 9B. The thrust force detector 9B detects thrust force added to an output shaft. The thrust force is a force in a direction along a thrust direction of the output shaft. The control unit 7 executes limiting processing when a thrust force condition relating to the thrust force detected by the thrust force detector 9B is satisfied.
