In the acquisition step, reaction information that includes the reaction pattern of each of multiple sensor elements is acquired from a sensor that includes multiple sensor elements that are different in at least one of the combinations of detectable gas components and the detection sensitivity for that combination and receives gas from a predetermined location on the surface of the target organism.
