To make it possible to achieve burden reduction by transition from manual work to remote operation when rotating an intermediate strut, while suppressing rotation failure and inability to rotate by simplifying device configuration.SOLUTION: A side gate plate support device for a cargo truck T supports a plurality of side gate plates which are divided and located in a longer direction of both side positions of a load-carrying platform floor plate 15. The side gate plate support device comprises: an intermediate strut 6 having a hinge part 17 which rotatably supports the side gate panels, which are located at adjacent boundary space positions, with respect to the load-carrying platform floor plate 15; a hydraulic cylinder 7; a first link mechanism 8; a remote operation controller 13. When the intermediate strut 6 rotates with the hinge part 17 as an opening/closing shaft, a strut undersurface 6a thereof, which contacts a top face of the load-carrying platform floor plate 15 when the intermediate strut becomes a vertical state, is so made as to be a strut stopper surface.
