Summary:To provide a technology capable of achieving both failure diagnosis of a current sensor and reduction in the number of the current sensors, in a drive circuit that executes H-drive.SOLUTION: A drive device 10 is applied to a rotary electric machine having a plurality of coils corresponding to a plurality of phases and comprises: a drive circuit 11 that includes a first inverter INV1 connected with a DC power supply and having upper and lower arm switches connected with one end of each coil for each phase, a second inverter INV2 having upper and lower arm switches connected with the other end of each coil for each phase, phase current sensors DU, DV and DW respectively provided to a plurality of phase connection lines for connecting between the first and second inverters for each phase, a high potential connection line La, and a low potential connection line Lb, and that achieves H-drive of the rotary electric machine; and a controller 12 that can control actuation of the first and second inverters.
