To provide an elevator alarm system and an elevator alarm method capable of issuing a proper alarm to a maintenance person by accurately detecting a distance between the maintenance person and a counterweight.SOLUTION: An elevator alarm system comprises: a radar device for detecting a moving object in a hoistway; and a control device for issuing an alarm for the approach of the moving object based on a detected result by the radar device. The control device has: a car speed identification part for identifying a car speed based on a receiving signal of the radar device; a counterweight speed range extraction part for extracting a speed range of a counterweight based on the identified car speed by the car speed identification part; a counterweight distance estimation part for estimating a distance to the counterweight based on the receiving signal of the radar device in the speed range extracted by the counterweight speed range extraction part; and a determination part for determining whether or not to issue the alarm based on the distance to the counterweight estimated by the counterweight distance estimation part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】釣合い錘の距離を精度よく検出し、保守員に対して適切な発報を行うことのできるエレベーター警報システムおよびエレベーター警報方法を提供する。【解決手段】昇降路内の移動体を検出するレーダー装置と、前記レーダー装置の検出結果に基づいて前記移動体の接近に対する警報を発する制御装置と、を備えたエレベーター警報システムにおいて、前記制御装置は、前記レーダー装置の受信信号に基づいて乗りかごの速度を特定するかご速度特定部と、前記かご速度特定部で特定した前記乗りかごの速度に基づいて釣合い錘の速度領域を抽出する釣合い錘速度領域抽出部と、前記釣合い錘速度領域抽出部で抽出した速度領域における前記レーダー装置の受信信号に基づいて、前記釣合い錘までの距離を推定する釣合い錘距離推定部と、前記釣合い錘距離推定部で推定した釣合い錘までの距離に基づいて警報を発するか否かを判定する判定部と、を有する。【選択図】図３
