Summary:To prevent condensate water generated or accumulated in an EGR passage from being flown into an exhaust passage all at once when EGR is started in cold time.SOLUTION: An EGR device 21 of an engine 1 mounted on a vehicle VC comprises: an EGR passage 22 with an entrance thereof 22a connected to an exhaust passage 3 and an exit thereof 22b connected to an intake passage 2; an EGR valve 23 installed in the EGR passage 22; operation state detection means 54 and 60 which detect operation states of the vehicle VC and the engine 1; and an electronic control unit (ECU) 70 which controls the EGR valve 23 on the basis of the detected operation state. When starting EGR and determining that condensate water generated or accumulated in the EGR passage 22 is going to be flown into the intake passage 2 all at once together with EGR gas on the basis of the detected operation state, the ECU 70 controls opening of the EGR valve 23. For example, the ECU 70 controls the opening of the EGR valve 23 in a manner that gradually increases an opening thereof from a full-closed state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】冷間時にEGRを開始するときに、EGR通路で発生又は滞留する凝縮水が吸気通路へ一気に流れ込むことを抑制すること。【解決手段】車両VCに搭載されエンジン1のEGR装置21は、入口22aが排気通路3に接続され、出口22bが吸気通路2に接続されるEGR通路22と、EGR通路22に設けられるEGR弁23と、車両VC及びエンジン1の運転状態を検出する運転状態検出手段54,60と、検出される運転状態に基づきEGR弁23を制御する電子制御装置(ECU)70とを備える。ECU70は、EGRを開始しようとするときに、検出される運転状態に基づいて、EGR通路22で発生又は滞留する凝縮水がEGRガスと共に一気に吸気通路2へ移動するときと判断した場合にEGR弁23の開弁を規制する。例えば、ECU70は、EGR弁23を全閉から徐々に開弁することで、開弁を規制する。【選択図】 図1
