Summary:To retrieve an electronic document based on a retrieval condition entered with an image of a printed matter obtained after printing even when a hue changes when printing the electronic document stored in a storage unit.SOLUTION: A retrieval system includes a management unit that manages a characteristic regarding a hue of an electronic document as an index. The management unit includes a registration unit that registers the characteristic regarding the hue of the electronic document obtained by analyzing the electronic document as the index of the electronic document, and an update unit that updates the index of the electronic document based on information regarding a printed matter of the electronic document when printing the electronic document.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】記憶部に格納された電子文書を印刷するときに色味が変わってしまった場合であっても、印刷後に得られる印刷物をイメージして入力した検索条件に基づいて電子文書を検索できるようにすることを目的とする。【解決手段】検索システムは、電子文書の色味に関する特徴をインデックスとして管理する管理部を備える。管理部は、電子文書を分析して得られる当該電子文書の色味に関する特徴を当該電子文書のインデックスとして登録する登録部と、電子文書が印刷された場合に、電子文書の印刷物に関する情報に基づいて当該電子文書のインデックスを更新する更新部とを含む。【選択図】図５
