Summary:To provide a technique advantageous for transferring data in a device having various functions.SOLUTION: A method for transmitting printing data by a serial transmission method in a printer includes: a step of generating a first data part having a fixed data length; a step of generating a second data part having a variable data length; and a step of transmitting the printing data in combination of the first data part and the second data part in a predetermined order.
