Summary:To suppress decrease in sensitivity of a metal detector.SOLUTION: In a metal detector 1 having at least one transmitter coil 7 and at least one receiver coil 8, the transmitter coil and the receiver coil are arranged in a housing 6. The transmitter coil and the receiver coil are wound around a bobbin, and the bobbin forms a search channel 4. A conveyance device 2 conveys a product through the search channel. The bobbin has an external surface oriented in a direction of an inner space of the housing, and a search channel surface oriented in a direction of the conveyance device 2. The transmitter coil and the receiver coil are arranged on the external surface of the bobbin and connected to a measuring device.
