Summary:To provide a method for forming 1,1,2-trifluoro-2-trifluoromethyl-cyclobutane at high purity.SOLUTION: A method for forming 1,1,2-trifluoro-2-trifluoromethyl-cyclobutane by thermal dimerization of a mixture of hexafluoropropene (HFP) and stoichiometric excess of ethylene in the presence of a polymerization or oligomerization inhibitor, in which the inhibitor is present at about 200 ppm to about 3% by weight basis and the molar ratio of HFP and ethylene in the mixture is 1:2 to 1:6, and the thermal dimerization reaction is performed at a temperature of 300°C to 350°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】高い純度で1,1,2−トリフルオロ−2−トリフルオロメチルシクロブタンを形成する方法を提供する。【解決手段】ヘキサフルオロプロペン(HFP)と化学量論的に過剰のエチレンの混合物を、重合又はオリゴマー化禁止剤の存在下で熱二量体化することによって1,1,2−トリフルオロ−2−トリフルオロメチルシクロブタンを形成する方法であって、前記禁止剤を重量基準で約200ppm〜約3%で存在させ、前記混合物中のHFPとエチレンのモル比が1:2〜1:6であり、熱二量体化反応が300℃〜350℃の範囲の温度において行われる、方法である。【選択図】なし
