Summary:To provide means capable of sufficiently proceeding reversible battery reaction in a fluoride ion battery.SOLUTION: In a negative electrode for a fluoride ion battery having a negative electrode active material layer containing a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode current collector for collecting a current of the negative electrode active material layer, the negative electrode active material contains metal fluoride whose defluorination reaction potential is nobler than the reduction decomposition potential of an inert coating composed of oxides and fluorides formed on the surface of the negative electrode current collector; a constituent material of the negative electrode current collector is aluminum or magnesium or an alloy thereof; and the negative electrode active material layer does not contain a conductive auxiliary agent made of a carbon material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】フッ化物イオン電池における可逆的な電池反応を十分に進行させうる手段を提供する。【解決手段】負極活物質を含有する負極活物質層と、前記負極活物質層の集電を行う負極集電体とを有するフッ化物イオン電池用負極において、脱フッ化反応電位が前記負極集電体の表面に形成される酸化物およびフッ化物からなる不働態被膜の還元分解電位よりも貴な電位である金属フッ化物を前記負極活物質に含ませ、前記負極集電体の構成材料をアルミニウムもしくはマグネシウムまたはこれらの合金とし、前記負極活物質層が炭素材料からなる導電助剤を含まないように構成する。【選択図】図1
