Summary:To provide a separation membrane support for an electrochemical element, having excellent handleability such that an electrochemical element having excellent power generation performance can be easily provided.SOLUTION: It has been found that a fiber aggregate composed of fibers containing a nonionic surfactant is less likely to be charged and has excellent handleability. Therefore, a separation membrane support comprising the fiber aggregate is also less likely to be charged and has excellent handleability, and consequently, a thin separation membrane can be easily provided, and an electrochemical element having excellent power generation performance can be easily provided. Further, according to the present invention, even a separation membrane support which comprises a fiber aggregate composed of fibers including a resin having a resin moisture content of 2.0 mass% or less and is more easily charged, can prevent unintentional lowering of power generation performance of an electrochemical element and also enables an electrochemical element having excellent power generation performance to be easily provided.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】発電性能に優れる電気化学素子を容易に提供できるよう、取扱い性に優れる電気化学素子用の分離膜支持体を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】ノニオン系界面活性剤を含有している繊維を備え構成された繊維集合体は、帯電し難く取扱い性に優れていることを見出した。そのため、当該繊維集合体を備える分離膜支持体もまた帯電し難く取扱い性に優れたものとなることから、薄手の分離膜を容易に提供でき、その結果、発電性能に優れる電気化学素子を容易に提供できる。更に、より帯電し易い樹脂水分率が2.0質量%以下の樹脂を含んでいる繊維からなる繊維集合体を備える分離膜支持体であっても、本発明によって、電気化学素子の発電性能が意図せず低下するのを防止できると共に、発電性能に優れる電気化学素子を容易に提供できる。【選択図】 なし
