Summary:To provide a valve control device capable of realizing thermal protection of an electric actuator for valve while restricting increase of calculation processing load.SOLUTION: An ECU 10 as a valve control device includes a microcomputer 11 (operational device) and a driving circuit 12. The driving circuit 12 controls energization duty for an electric motor 61m of an EGR valve 61. The microcomputer 11 includes a duty calculation part 11a, a pulse signal calculation part 11b and a temperature index calculation part 11c. The duty calculation part 11a repeatedly calculates target duty for a target opening of the EGR valve 61 with a first period. The pulse signal calculation part 11b repeatedly calculates a pulse signal Sa corresponding to the target duty with a second period. The temperature index calculation part 11c repeatedly calculates a temperature index based on the history of the target duty with a third period which is longer than the second period. The duty calculation part 11a corrects the target duty to decrease if the temperature index reaches an upper limit value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】バルブ用電動アクチュエータの熱保護を、演算処理負荷の増大を抑制させつつ実現させるバルブ制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】バルブ制御装置としてのECU10は、マイコン11(演算装置)および駆動回路12を備える。駆動回路12は、EGRバルブ61の電動モータ61mへの通電デューティを制御する。マイコン11は、デューティ演算部11a、パルス信号演算部11bおよび温度指標演算部11cを有する。デューティ演算部11aは、EGRバルブ61の目標開度に対応する目標デューティを第1周期で繰り返し演算する。パルス信号演算部11bは、目標デューティに対応するパルス信号Saを第2周期で繰り返し演算する。温度指標演算部11cは、目標デューティの履歴に基づき温度指標を、第2周期より長い第3周期で繰り返し演算する。デューティ演算部11aは、温度指標が上限値に達した場合には、目標デューティを低減補正する。【選択図】図1
