Summary:To provide an image forming system and an image forming method that can perform transfer to a paper sheet well by combining active ray-curable ink and an intermediate transfer body having good conforming property to sheets, thus improving quality of images.SOLUTION: An image forming method and an image forming system of the present invention use an image forming device configured to transfer an image formed on an intermediate transfer body with active ray-curable ink to a recording medium. The intermediate transfer body is a laminate including at least one layer of an elastic layer and a base material layer. With measurement of dynamic viscoelasticity of the laminate in a vertical direction, a loss elastic modulus at a temperature of 40°C and frequency of 0.1 Hz is 10000 Pa or greater, and a storage elastic modulus of the active ray-curable ink at the time of image transfer is greater than a storage elastic modulus of the intermediate transfer body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】本発明の課題は、活性線硬化型インクと柔軟性を持ち紙への追随性が良好な中間転写体を組み合わせることで、紙への良好な転写を行うことができ、画像品質の向上を図ることができる画像形成システム及び画像形成方法を提供することである。【解決手段】本発明の画像形成方法及び画像形成システムは、中間転写体上に活性線硬化型インクにより形成された画像を、記録媒体に転写する方式の画像形成装置を用いる画像形成システムであって、前記中間転写体が、弾性層又は基材層のうち少なくとも1層を有する積層体であり、前記積層体の垂直方向の動的粘弾性測定において、温度40℃・周波数0.1Hzにおける損失弾性率が10000Pa以上であり、かつ、前記画像転写時の前記活性線硬化型インクの貯蔵弾性率が前記中間転写体の貯蔵弾性率よりも大きいことを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
