Summary:To provide a ling-life nitrate nitrogen decomposition catalyst that is difficult to be affected by reducing agent.SOLUTION: A nitrate nitrogen decomposition catalyst of the present invention is constituted in such a way that a metal particle having an average particle diameter of 1 to 30nm are carried by active carbon having an average particle diameter of 40 to 200 μm, a pore volume of 0.4 to 1.0 mL/g, and a specific surface area of 800 to 1500 m2/g. Herein, the metal particle includes Cu- Pd alloy, and the carried amount of the metal particle is 0.1 to 3%. Then, it is preferable that the packing density of active carbon is in the range of 0.4 to 0.8 g/mL. Further, it is preferable that the sum of Cu component and Pd component included in the metal particle is 95 mass% or more, and the ratio of Pd component to the sum of Cu component and Pd component is in the range of 60 to 98%.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】 還元剤の影響を受け難い、寿命の長い硝酸性窒素分解触媒を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明の硝酸性窒素分解触媒は、平均粒子径が40〜200μm、細孔容積が0.4〜1.0mL/g、比表面積が800〜1500m2/gの活性炭に、平均粒子径1〜30nmの金属粒子が担持された構成である。ここで、金属粒子はCu−Pd合金を含み、その担持量が0.1〜3%である。また、活性炭の充填密度は0.4〜0.8g/mLの範囲が好ましい。また、金属粒子に含まれるCu成分とPd成分の和は95質量%以上で、Cu成分とPd成分の和に対するPd成分の割合は60〜98%の範囲が好ましい。【選択図】なし
