Summary:To provide a projector which is designed not to be enlarged.SOLUTION: A projector 1 which modulates and projects light emitted from a light source includes: an outer housing 3 constituting an outer case of the projector; an object to be cooled 5 which is detachably mounted from the outside of the outer housing 3; a cooling fan which supplies a cooling gas to the object to be cooled 5; and a flow path forming member 8 which forms a flow path where the cooling gas supplied from the cooling fan flows. The object to be cooled 5 mounted on the projector forms a flow path with the flow path forming member 8.
