To prevent paper feeding failure such as paper feed delay, a jam or the like caused by curling by detecting a curling state of a sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder 10 comprises a sheet detection part 50 for detecting an upper face of a sheet. The sheet detection part 50 comprises a first detection part 51 for detecting a substantially central part in a width direction X of the sheet crossing in a sheet conveyance direction, and a second detection part 52 for detecting an end portion in the width direction X of the sheet. The second detection part 52 is movably provided in the width direction X according to a width of the stored sheet.
