The secondary battery comprises: a negative electrode; a positive electrode; and an aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode comprises: a negative electrode collector containing aluminum; and a negative electrode active material containing layer provided onto the negative electrode collector and containing a titanium containing oxidation. At least one part of a front surface of the negative electrode active material containing layer, comprises a coating film containing an aluminum containing chemical material. The aqueous electrolyte contains: a zinc ion; and a heterocyclic compound having an aromatic ring and a hetero atom.
